1. Chef

   Willkommen im Kochkurs! Heute bereiten wir ein Gemüsecurry zu. Bruno, Sie schälen bitte zuerst die Zwiebeln.

   Translation

   Welcome to the cooking class! Today we're making a vegetable curry. Bruno, please peel the onions first.

   Bruno

   Kein Problem! Ich bin ja quasi selbst schon Koch.

   Translation

   No problem! I'm practically a chef myself.

3. Chef

   Gut. Dann schneiden Sie sie auf dem Brett in kleine Stücke, den Knoblauch auch.

   Translation

   Good. Then cut them into small pieces on the chopping board, and the garlic too.

   Bruno

   Puh, meine Augen! Warum weint man eigentlich immer, wenn man Zwiebeln schneidet?

   Translation

   Phew, my eyes! Why does everyone always cry when they cut onions?

5. Chef

   Das ist Chemie. Jetzt braten Sie die Zwiebeln in der Pfanne an, bis sie goldbraun sind.

   Translation

   That's chemistry. Now fry the onions in the pan until they're golden brown.

   Bruno

   Darf ich inzwischen eine Karotte essen? Roh sind sie am besten!

   Translation

   May I eat a carrot in the meantime? They're best raw!

7. Chef

   Na gut, eine. Jetzt kommt das Gemüse dazu. Legen Sie den Deckel drauf, damit es zart wird.

   Translation

   All right, one. Now the vegetables go in. Put the lid on so that they get tender.

   Bruno

   Und dann ganz viel Chili! Ich mag es richtig scharf.

   Translation

   And then loads of chilli! I like it really hot.

   Vorsicht, die anderen mögen es eher mild. Würzen Sie mit wenig Chili und frischen Kräutern, und schmecken Sie dann ab.

   Translation

   Careful, the others prefer it mild. Season it with a little chilli and fresh herbs, and then taste it.

    Hm … der Geschmack ist toll, aber es fehlt noch etwas Salz.

    Translation

    Mm… the flavour is great, but it still needs a little salt.

    Sehr gut, Sie lernen schnell! Füllen Sie das Curry in eine große Schüssel, dazu gibt es knuspriges Brot.

    Translation

    Very good, you learn fast! Put the curry into a big bowl - it comes with crispy bread.

    Eine große Schüssel? Perfekt - das ist genau meine Portion!

    Translation

    A big bowl? Perfect - that's exactly my portion!
