   Frau Hilde

   Guten Morgen, Otti! Bringen Sie den Müll raus?

   Translation

   Good morning, Otti! Are you taking the rubbish out?

   Otti

   Ja, Frau Hilde. Aber hier stehen so viele Mülltonnen! Welche ist für Plastik?

   Translation

   Yes, Frau Hilde. But there are so many bins here! Which one is for plastic?

   Frau Hilde

   Die gelbe. Da kommt jede Verpackung hinein, auch eine Dose. Sie muss nur leer sein, nicht ganz sauber.

   Translation

   The yellow one. Every bit of packaging goes in there, a can too. It only has to be empty, not completely clean.

   Otti

   Und diese Flasche? Kann ich sie einfach wegwerfen?

   Translation

   And this bottle? Can I just throw it away?

   Frau Hilde

   Nein, nein! Auf der Flasche ist Pfand. Bringen Sie sie in den Supermarkt, dann bekommen Sie Geld zurück.

   Translation

   No, no! There's a deposit on that bottle. Take it to the supermarket and you'll get money back.

   Ach so! Und das Papier kommt in die blaue Tonne, oder?

   Translation

   I see! And the paper goes in the blue bin, right?

   Genau. Wir trennen den Müll, weil wir die Umwelt schützen wollen.

   Translation

   Exactly. We sort the rubbish because we want to protect the environment.

   Das finde ich gut. Aber die braune Tonne ist schon ganz voll.

   Translation

   I think that's good. But the brown bin is already completely full.

   Frau Hilde

   Morgen kommt die Müllabfuhr. Übrigens, Otti: Ihr Fenster ist seit gestern offen, und die Heizung ist an.

   Translation

   The bin lorry comes tomorrow. By the way, Otti: your window has been open since yesterday, and the heating is on.
