1. Tradeswoman

   Guten Tag! Sie wollten einen Kostenvoranschlag für die Renovierung, richtig?

   Translation

   Hello! You wanted a cost estimate for the renovation, right?

2. 

   Otti

   Genau. Die Wände sind grau, der Boden ist alt, und im Bad ist Schimmel. Ich möchte alles renovieren.

   Translation

   Exactly. The walls are grey, the floor is old, and there's mould in the bathroom. I'd like to renovate everything.

3. Tradeswoman

   Oh, die Wand hinter der Wanne ist ganz feucht. Der Schimmel muss zuerst entfernt werden, sonst kommt er zurück.

   Translation

   Oh, the wall behind the bath is quite damp. The mould has to be removed first, or it'll come back.

4. 

   Otti

   Danach hätte ich gern blaue Fliesen. Und im Schlafzimmer eine neue Tapete mit Sternen.

   Translation

   After that I'd like blue tiles. And new wallpaper with stars in the bedroom.

5. Tradeswoman

   Die Fliesen machen wir. Tapezieren und streichen könnten Sie aber selbst, das wäre billiger.

   Translation

   We'll do the tiles. But you could hang the wallpaper and paint yourself, that would be cheaper.

   Otti

   Ehrlich gesagt bin ich handwerklich nicht sehr begabt. Als ich zuletzt gebohrt habe, waren am Ende drei Löcher in der Wand.

   Translation

   To be honest, I'm not very handy. The last time I drilled, there were three holes in the wall at the end.

7. Tradeswoman

   Dann tapezieren wir auch. Und die Steckdose am Fenster müsste versetzt werden.

   Translation

   Then we'll do the wallpapering too. And the socket by the window would need to be moved.

   Otti

   Wird das sehr aufwendig? Und wie staubig wird es?

   Translation

   Will that be a lot of work? And how dusty will it get?

9. Tradeswoman

   Mit der Bohrmaschine wird es eine Woche lang staubig, leider. Mit Material und Werkzeug komme ich auf 4800 Euro.

   Translation

   With the drill it'll be dusty for a week, unfortunately. With materials and tools, I come to 4,800 euros.

    Otti

    Das ist der günstigste von drei Kostenvoranschlägen. Ich beauftrage Sie! Nur streichen will ich selbst - einen Pinsel kann sogar ich halten.

    Translation

    That's the cheapest of three estimates. I'll hire you! I just want to do the painting myself - even I can hold a brush.
