   Kundenservice, guten Tag! Was kann ich für Sie tun?

   Customer service, good afternoon! What can I do for you?

   Otti

   Endlich! Ich war zwanzig Minuten in der Warteschleife und bin fast eingeschlafen. Ich möchte meinen Handyvertrag kündigen.

   Translation

   At last! I was on hold for twenty minutes and almost fell asleep. I'd like to cancel my phone contract.

3. Customer service agent

   Oh, das ist schade. Darf ich fragen, warum?

   Translation

   Oh, that's a pity. May I ask why?

   Otti

   Ich habe Tarife verglichen: Ich zahle 40 Euro im Monat, und woanders ist es viel billiger.

   Translation

   I've compared plans: I pay 40 euros a month, and elsewhere it's much cheaper.

   Ich verstehe. Ihr Vertrag hat allerdings noch eine Laufzeit bis März.

   Translation

   I understand. However, your contract still runs until March.

   Und wenn ich jetzt schon wechsle? Kostet das eine Gebühr?

   Translation

   And if I switch now? Is there a fee for that?

   Ja, leider. Aber ich hätte einen Vorschlag: Wenn Sie den Vertrag verlängern, bekommen Sie eine Flatrate mit unbegrenztem Datenvolumen für 25 Euro.

   Translation

   Yes, unfortunately. But I'd have a suggestion: if you extend the contract, you get a flat rate with unlimited data for 25 euros.

   Klingt gut. Aber wo sind die versteckten Kosten? Zahle ich im Ausland zusätzlich etwas?

   Nein, alles ist inklusive. Nur die Laufzeit wäre wieder 24 Monate.

    Two years? Is that really worth it? I'd rather take out a contract that I can cancel every month.

    Das ist auch möglich: derselbe Tarif, monatlich kündbar, für 29 Euro.
