   Otti

   Hallo, Frida! Du kommst direkt von der Probe, oder? Wie war es?

   Translation

   Hi, Frida! You've come straight from rehearsal, haven't you? How was it?

2. 

   Frida

   Anstrengend! In zwei Wochen ist unser erstes Konzert, deshalb proben wir jetzt zweimal pro Woche.

   Translation

   Exhausting! Our first concert is in two weeks, so now we rehearse twice a week.

   Otti

   Ich wusste gar nicht, dass du so musikalisch bist. Seit wann singst du denn im Chor?

   Translation

   I had no idea you were so musical. How long have you been singing in a choir?

   Frida

   Erst seit dem Frühling. Eine Freundin war schon Mitglied, und da bin ich auch eingetreten.

   Translation

   Only since the spring. A friend of mine was already a member, so I joined too.

   Otti

   Und welche Lieder singt ihr beim Konzert?

   Translation

   And which songs are you singing at the concert?

   Frida

   Alte Volkslieder und ein neues Lied, bei dem ich allein singe. Die Dirigentin findet, dass meine Stimme gut dazu passt.

   Translation

   Old folk songs and a new song that I sing on my own. The conductor thinks my voice suits it well.

   Otti

   Ein Solo? Toll! Wirst du nicht Lampenfieber haben?

   Translation

   A solo? Great! Won't you have stage fright?

   Frida

   Doch, schrecklich! Als ich das Lied zum ersten Mal vor allen sang, zitterte meine Stimme. Ich traue mich kaum, allein aufzutreten.

   Translation

   I will, terribly! When I sang the song in front of everyone for the first time, my voice was shaking. I hardly dare perform on my own.

   Otti

   Weißt du was? Ich begleite dich zum Auftritt und sitze ganz vorn.

   Translation

   You know what? I'll come with you to the performance and sit right at the front.

    Frida

    Das wäre lieb. Aber schlaf bitte nicht ein, wenn wir die langsamen Lieder singen!

    Translation

    That would be sweet. But please don't fall asleep during the slow songs!

    Otti

    Ich? Niemals! … Na gut, ich trinke vorher einen großen Kaffee.

    Translation

    Me? Never! … All right, I'll have a big coffee beforehand.

    Frida

    Gute Idee. Und danach feiern wir gemeinsam - der ganze Chor und du.

    Translation

    Good idea. And afterwards we'll celebrate together - the whole choir and you.
