   Bruno

   Lotte, ich habe eine Geschäftsidee! Ich träume schon lange von einem eigenen Imbiss auf dem Markt.

   Translation

   Lotte, I've got a business idea! I've dreamt of my own food stall at the market for ages.

   Lotte

   Ein Imbiss? Das klingt toll, aber ist das nicht riskant? Hast du die Kosten schon berechnet?

   Translation

   A food stall? That sounds great, but isn't it risky? Have you worked out the costs yet?

   Bruno

   Noch nicht. Dafür habe ich ja dich!

   Translation

   Not yet. That's what I've got you for!

   Lotte

   Also gut. Die Kosten für den Platz sind dreihundert Euro im Monat, dazu kommen noch die Lieferanten.

   Translation

   All right. The pitch costs three hundred euros a month, plus the suppliers.

   Bruno

   Ach was! Bei hundert Kunden am Tag wäre der Umsatz riesig.

   Translation

   Oh, come on! With a hundred customers a day the takings would be huge.

   Lotte

   Umsatz ist aber nicht Gewinn. Davon musst du noch die Steuern bezahlen.

   Translation

   But takings aren't profit. You still have to pay the taxes out of them.

   Bruno

   Hm. Und wie viel verdiene ich dann wirklich?

   Translation

   Hm. So how much would I really earn?

   Lotte

   Wenn alles gut läuft, etwa zweitausend im Monat. Aber auf dem Markt gibt es schon drei Imbisse - die Konkurrenz ist groß.

   Translation

   If everything goes well, about two thousand a month. But there are already three food stalls at the market - the competition is tough.

   Bruno

   Aber keiner hat meine geheime Soße! Damit gewinne ich alle Kunden.

   Translation

   But none of them has my secret sauce! With that I'll win every customer.

    Lotte

    Vielleicht. Aber bevor du selbstständig wirst, solltest du nicht zu viel investieren. Sonst ist das Risiko zu groß.

    Translation

    Maybe. But before you become self-employed, you shouldn't invest too much. Otherwise the risk is too big.

    Bruno

    Gute Idee. Dann gründe ich zuerst einen Imbiss, der nur am Wochenende offen hat. Mein Traum fängt eben klein an!

    Translation

    Good idea. Then first I'll set up a food stall that's only open at weekends. My dream just starts small!

    Lotte

    Perfekt! Und ich bin deine erste Kundin - falls du nicht alles selbst isst.

    Translation

    Perfect! And I'll be your first customer - if you don't eat everything yourself.
