Ein kurzes Gespräch mit den Wörtern dieses Szenarios. Tippe unter einem Satz auf „Übersetzung“, um zu sehen, was er bedeutet.

   Heute diskutieren wir, ob Berlin mehr Radwege braucht. Wer möchte seinen Standpunkt mit einem Argument begründen?

   Übersetzung

   Today we're discussing whether Berlin needs more cycle paths. Who would like to back up their point of view with an argument?

2. 

   Emil

   Ich! Ich bin jeden Tag als Kurier unterwegs und überzeugt, dass Berlin mehr Radwege braucht.

   Übersetzung

   Me! I'm out and about as a courier every day, and I'm convinced Berlin needs more cycle paths.

   Gut. Und warum?

   Übersetzung

   Good. And why?

   Emil

   Mit dem Rad ist man in der Stadt oft schneller als mit dem Auto. Außerdem ist es gesünder und leiser.

   Übersetzung

   In the city you're often faster by bike than by car. Besides, it's healthier and quieter.

5. Student

   Ich sehe das anders. Einerseits sind Radwege gut, andererseits fehlen dann Parkplätze.

   Übersetzung

   I see it differently. On the one hand cycle paths are good, on the other hand there are then fewer parking spaces.

   Emil

   Das ist allerdings kein Nachteil, sondern ein Vorteil: weniger Autos, mehr Platz für alle.

   Übersetzung

   That's not a disadvantage, though, but an advantage: fewer cars, more space for everyone.

   Und ältere Menschen? Die können nicht alle Rad fahren.

   Übersetzung

   And older people? Not all of them can ride a bike.

   Da muss ich dir zustimmen. Deshalb brauchen wir neben Radwegen auch gute Busse.

   Übersetzung

   I have to agree with you there. That's why we need good buses as well as cycle paths.

   Gut, da kann ich nicht widersprechen. Aber gibt es dafür ein Beispiel?

   All right, I can't argue with that. But is there an example of it?

    Emil

    Kopenhagen! Dort fahren viele mit dem Rad zur Arbeit, und die Stadt ist viel ruhiger.

    Übersetzung

    Copenhagen! Lots of people cycle to work there, and the city is much quieter.
