   Otti, du niest und hustest schon seit Montag. Bist du erkältet?

   Translation

   Otti, you've been sneezing and coughing since Monday. Have you got a cold?

   Otti

   Ja … Ich habe Schnupfen und Kopfschmerzen. Vielleicht ist es sogar eine Grippe.

   Translation

   Yes … I have a runny nose and a headache. Maybe it's even the flu.

   Lotte

   Dann musst du zum Arzt. Ich mache sofort einen Termin für dich. Hast du deine Karte von der Krankenkasse?

   Translation

   Then you have to see a doctor. I'll make an appointment for you right away. Have you got your health insurance card?

   Otti

   Ja, die Karte von meiner Versicherung ist in der Tasche. Danke, Lotte!

   Translation

   Yes, my insurance card is in my bag. Thanks, Lotte!

   Guten Morgen, Otti. Sie haben lange im Wartezimmer gewartet. Was fehlt Ihnen?

   Translation

   Good morning, Otti. You've waited a long time in the waiting room. What seems to be the problem?

   Ich habe Schnupfen, Kopfschmerzen und seit gestern auch Bauchschmerzen.

   Translation

   I have a runny nose, a headache, and since yesterday a stomach ache too.

   Ich untersuche Sie jetzt. … So, die Untersuchung ist fertig: Sie haben kein Fieber, also keine Grippe. Es ist eine Erkältung.

   Translation

   I'll examine you now. … Right, the examination is done: you have no temperature, so it's not the flu. It's a cold.

   Zum Glück! Und was kann ich gegen die Schmerzen nehmen?

   Translation

   Thank goodness! And what can I take for the pain?

   Ich verschreibe Ihnen Tropfen für die Nase und eine Salbe für die Brust. Und schlafen Sie viel!

   Translation

   I'll prescribe you drops for your nose and an ointment for your chest. And get plenty of sleep!
